Customer Reviews

I manage two hotels and a tour company in Uganda although originally from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. I brought a small student group to your sanctuary and absolutely loved all and so did my group. The knowledge and the interaction from your leader and trainers was amazing and an experience we will all not forget. I shall certainly be referring people to the sanctuary. Well done and thank you for the great work you are doing! Kind regards. Helen - Helen Reynolds

The ranger knew all about his loved animals. It was sad but we couldn't do the brush down as a thunder storm but we walked and was up close and personal with the elephants. But when the storm came it was amazing to see how they went back to being a herd animal. Loved the experience Thank you - Lesley Ivory

It was fantastic to be able to get up close with African elephants and as it was quiet my friend and I had the elephants to ourselves. It is great that these elephants have been rescued and can live out a peaceful life in good surroundings. The only negative is that it all felt a bit 'staged' as the elephants have been trained to have people around them. We are very happy that we went and it was a good experience and I would recommend it to others. - Caroline Webb

With the plight of these magnificent creatures in Africa right now, the life that the sanctuary has given these elephants is delightful. I love elephants, and I chose to walk with them and brush them as I had not done so before. What a feeling to have their trunk nuzzled heavily in the palm of your hand! It was raining, muddy and snotty and I loved every second. Such majestic beautiful calm animals. The rangers are so good with them, you can really feel that there is a lot of love going round. When Marula the matriarch was a bit too fast for my measly shoes for the mud, her ranger calmly spoke to her and she slowed down. The information given by the guide was very excellent and all my questions were answered. I will certainly be back to visit Marula, Thandi and Jabu. Thanks you all for the experience, and thank you so much for all your hard work to help these amazing beasts. - Nicci

I have no words for my experience. Both the staff and the elephants were/are so kind! This evening I have arrived home in Sweden - the elephants are so beautiful animals! Kind regads - Agneta Pehrsson
